Waste sorting

An important element in our focus on sustainability is our waste sorting. At OC, we take great care to sort our waste as thoroughly as possible. In this way, it is important that the waste is sorted correctly, so that cardboard ends up in the cardboard container and plastic in the plastic container, etc.

This is done because effective waste sorting helps minimize the amount of waste that ends up in landfills or incinerators and increases the possibility of recycling and reusing materials. By sorting the waste correctly, we can reduce the need to extract and produce new resources, which ultimately contributes to preserving natural resources and reducing climate impact.
Food waste

At Original Coffee, we want to treat all raw materials with respect and minimize our waste. It is therefore important that we produce limited quantities of food at a time, and that we serve quantities corresponding to most people's appetites: rather that the guest e.g. can ask for an extra spoonful of compote for his breakfast, rather than food being thrown away at each serving.
Raw materials and ecology

Since 2019, we have had the organic food label in silver, which is equivalent to 60-90% of our raw materials being of organic origin. We are constantly working to improve our percentage, but the gold mark is not yet within reach, as our coffee, which is our primary product, is not organic.

However, it must be mentioned that we are equally satisfied with our silver label, as it shows that we always decide on and prioritize ecology in our choice of raw materials.
Energy from Danish wind turbines

We are proud to be able to announce that all our coffee bars are powered by wind energy, which comes exclusively from Danish wind turbines. This commitment to using renewable energy sources is an important step in our efforts to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
