Spain has gone through a revolution against low-quality coffee. Today, however, there is no doubt that the quality is top-notch if you find the right places. People value their little coffee breaks, and it is not unusual to see "special orders" in the many small coffee shops around - everyone has their own idea of a good cup of coffee. The coffee culture is strong, and it can be seen in the way the coffee is brewed and enjoyed. Visit one (or all!) of these coffee shops next time you are in Barcelona.
