Pour over

Pour over, or hand brew, is a simple and easy way to brew a good cup of coffee. With hand brew you achieve the coffee's full potential with a very clean and clear taste experience where you can really taste the coffee's notes.

At Original Coffee we use funnels from Timemore, Kalita Wave filters from and serving jugs from Kinto to make hand brews.

Brewing guide

1. Boil 300 g of water and let it cool to 92–95°C. Place the filter in the funnel above the server and rinse the filter first – this will get rid of the paper taste and heat up the server.

2. Weigh 17 g of coffee, grind medium coarse. Place the server + funnel on the scale, pour the coffee in and shake lightly so that it is evenly distributed. Reset the scale.

3. Start timer. Pour 50 g of water slowly in circles of approx. 10 sec, so that all the coffee is hit. Wait 30 sec.

4. Pour in the last 200 g of water in about 1 minute in a calm, circular motion.

5. Let the coffee run through for a total time of 1:45–2:00 min. The recipe yields approximately 250 g of coffee.

Taste and adjust the grinder next time.
